DJ Short Change

Biography

Bio

Dating all the way back to the early 90's, Short Change has been playing what the people want.  Things all began growing up in Monmouth, OR where he started DJing his high school dances at Central High.

After graduation, a quick relocation to Portland, OR laid the foundation for the future of his DJing.  Things really got started in 1999 when he began his radio show Reggae Revelation on KPSU 1450am.  RR is still running on the airwaves after all these years on Sunday nights from 8-9pm.

The radio show helped to spawn Short Change into the Portland, OR reggae club scene teaming up with DJ Professor Stone forming the Good Vibes Crew.  They held weekly dances at The Red Sea, Seges, Tiger Bar, and DV8 from 1999-2001.

September 2002 began a new partnership as Short Change teamed up with DJ Xacto to form XactChange HiFi and begin "Reggae on Broadway" a weekly event at The 715 Inn.  For the next two years, this become a staple in the Portland OR Reggae DJ lineup.

A Short stint at Mudai Ethiopian Restaurant followed but did not materialize into much.

Regrouping but continuing to DJ throughout Portland, a new weekly began at Ringlers Pub in July of 2006.  Just Cool Mon every Monday night has just passed its 1 year anniversary and is the new home of XactChange HiFi.

Throughout the years of spinning reggae music on the radio, in the clubs, and opening for bands, Short Change has also expanded his musical selections into other realms -   DJing an average of 4-5 weddings a year, corporate gigs (Nike, Yahoo), and even Middle School dances.  All styles of music are played to keep the dance floor crowds happy.
